Staircases from Gais · for over 30 years
Bespoke solid wood stairs, from one workshop.
Designed and made in our own workshop in Gais, and installed by our own team. For new builds, renovations and hotels.
We take you upstairs. Stairs and flooring for hotels and private homes, in new builds and existing properties.
Stairs first. Flooring from the same workshop.
Bespoke solid wood stairs are at the heart of our business. Wood flooring and subfloors come from the same workshop, matched to the stairs in timber, finish and transitions. Where the project calls for it, we also make fitted joinery and bespoke furniture.
All servicesThe right stairs for your home
Space, floor-to-floor height and supporting structure determine the design. That is why every staircase starts with site measurements.

More about WoodVibes
How does a project with Hecher work?
We begin with a consultation, on site or at our workshop in Gais. This is followed by measurements, design, manufacturing and installation. Hecher remains your point of contact after installation, too.
Can you clad existing concrete stairs?
Yes, we regularly fit solid wood treads and risers to existing concrete stairs, with a matching balustrade if required.
Do you also work in historic buildings?
Yes. Renovating older buildings is part of our everyday work, and our projects include the staircase at Bruneck Castle.
Do you fit flooring without a staircase project?
Yes. We also install wood flooring and subfloors independently of staircase projects, on both timber and concrete floors.
Which timbers do you use?
We produce our own solid wood floorboards from local larch and spruce. Depending on the project, we also use fine hardwoods. Surfaces can be sanded, brushed, oiled or lacquered.
